This Good Friday, Adelaide Cantata Band invites you to a free evening performance of poignant 18th-century music within the intimate setting of Pilgrim Uniting Church, in the heart of the city on Kaurna land.
Experience a deeply moving, and utterly beautiful performance of Baroque music with Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater – an 18th-century musical modernisation of the medieval religious text depicting Mary’s deep grief at the crucifixion of her son, Jesus.
Hear industry leading musicians on period instruments paired with heavenly voices from renowned Adelaide-based vocalists and early music exponents, Jessica Dean and Catriona Barr. Plus, with Ben Dollman, one of Australia’s leading performers of Baroque violin, directing the ensemble, you can expect world-class artistry.
While attendance is free, RSVP is recommended.
