UKARIA Cultural Centre’s 2026 season closes with a program to entice the discerning ear. Six exquisite violins crafted by luthiers of the Golden Period – Stradivari, Amati, Guadagnini, Rugeri and Guarneri del Gesù – will be presented in a succession of virtuosic works. These instruments, belonging to a private collector, represent just over a century of unrivalled craftsmanship, with this concert providing a rare listening experience.
Who better to showcase these instruments than internationally-acclaimed violinist Ning Feng, who brings his ‘innate musicality’ and ‘stunning virtuosity’ to the endeavour. Based in Berlin, where he is Violin Professor at the Hanns Eisler Hochschule, Feng is a regular recitalist at Wigmore Hall, and names Nelson Goerner, Daniel Müller-Schott and Edgar Moreau among his chamber music partners. At UKARIA, Feng will collaborate with Melbourne-based pianist Angela Li on eight works that explore the unique characteristics of these magnificent instruments.
This concert is presented in association with Classical Music Australia.
