Inarma Choir and Aurora Vocal Ensemble perform their own, and shared songs in this unique collaboration. Since 2024, Christie Anderson, Aurora and Inarma have shared music, stories, tradition, and new music, allowing the humanity of their voices to remain a living, evolving art form.
In a celebration of culture, Inarma Choir from central Australia present songs that reflect their proud heritage. Each piece tells a musical story, incorporating ancestral wisdom with gospel, hymn singing and original songs. The program includes a performance by Aurora and Inarma of Pauline Oliveros’ Deep Listening from her sonic meditations.
Inarma Choir features women from the remote Communities of Pukatja (SA), Apatula, Titjikala, and Alice Springs and Amoonguna (NT). The women share close family ties and Tjukurrpa spanning 800 kilometres across central Australia; their unique singing voice reflects their deep spirituality and strength. On Saturday October 3rd Inarma Choir premiered their new work, Waltjapiti Tjungu, with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.
Aurora Vocal Ensemble is a dynamic upper voice group led by award-winning singer and conductor Christie Anderson. Known for their expressive artistry, precision, and joy in performance, Aurora has toured nationally and internationally, recently touring South Korea and Dubai with The Pulse – a striking collaboration with acrobatic company Gravity & Other Myths. Emerging from renowned choir school Young Adelaide Voices, Aurora's singers are strong advocates for the power of vocal music to inspire and connect.
