Selby & Friends welcomes the return of violinist Natalie Chee and Richard Narroway, performing with pianist Kathyrn Selby in a suite for piano trio exploring Australia’s famously ferocious bush fires, two gorgeous works by Robert Schumann, and Felix Mendelssohn’s final, passionate piano trio.

The Fire Dances Suite was composed in 2020 by 8 Australian composers, one from each state/territory as a suite of dance movements reflecting on the human relationship with the land. It is followed by Schumann: Three Romances in arrangement for cello and piano, and the Sonata No. 1 in A minor for Violin and Piano, Op. 105. Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio No.2 in C minor, Op. 66 rounds out this multifaceted program.
