Inflorescence Trio

Megan Robson, Guitar, Bridget McCullough, Viola, Gemma Vice, Flute

Every journey has its shape - a departure, a period of exile, and the quiet relief of homecoming. That arc sits at the heart of this program from Inflorescence Trio, three Elder Conservatorium graduates who are exciting emerging voices in chamber music.

Flautist Gemma Vice, violist Bridget McCullough and guitarist Megan Robson bring a program of breadth and beauty. Ian Seaborn's Voyage, receiving its world premiere, traces a journey both geographical and interior across its three movements. Around it, Annette Kruisbrink's shimmering Oasis, Frederic Hand's Trio, a sparkling trio by Joseph Kreutzer, Chris Everest's Contemplación y Danza (also receiving its world premiere) and Piazzolla's irresistible Libertango complete a program that moves from meditative stillness to beautiful lyricism.

Gemma Vice is an honours graduate of the Elder Conservatorium and recent soloist with the Unley Symphony Orchestra, where she performed Devienne's Flute Concerto No. 7 to considerable acclaim. Megan Robson brings exceptional credentials to the guitar chair, a prizewinner at multiple international competitions including the New Zealand Classical Guitar Competition and the SOUNZ Prize for Best Performance of a New Zealand Work. Bridget McCullough was recently named a recipient of the Helpmann Academy's 2025 Elevate Mentorship program, and is mentored by Robert Ashworth, Principal Viola of the Auckland Philharmonia. Together they make a trio of real distinction.
