Recitals Australia is a non-profit organisation providing access to world leading performances by virtuoso artists and provides performance opportunities and educational incentives for talented local musicians.
Recitals Australia plays a unique role in the musical life of Adelaide, by providing over 100 performance opportunities for artists of all ages and levels. The youngest are able to participate in Home Recitals; more experienced and semi-professional artists, and professionals seeking additional opportunities, are included in the Autumn or Spring Lunch Hour Series each Wednesday.
Each year Recitals Australia holds a Virtuosi Series of concerts that showcase a range of professional national and international performers. The whole program of recitals is managed by a voluntary council, many of whom are also professional musicians.
In 2017 Recitals Australia continues its Virtuosi Series of concerts featuring some of the best Australian and international musicians and, this year, hosts each of them in collaboration with Ukaria Cultural Centre. As part of its Lunch House Series at Pilgrim Church it offers opportunities to young and emerging artists to perform in a professional setting. Recitals Australia will award the Peter Schodde Memorial Piano Scholarship in 2017 and continues to offer its travel grants and Lunch Hour Awards.
