Austral Harmony

Promoting Historical Instruments

Austral Harmony bring Historically Inspired Performance into mainstream awareness with Concerts and Bach-Akademies to stimulate future generations in a now rapidly burgeoning discipline of musical education. By using historically relevant instruments, the musicians of Austral Harmony conserve traditions of the past in the arena of classical music, and in particular champion the extraordinary artistic legacy and creative imagination of Johann Sebastian Bach. Comprehensive and enlightening programme notes are provided for enhanced knowledge of the music and style. With a desire to involve and enrich regional communities, Austral Harmony tours throughout Australian states presenting innovatively designed programmes backed by scholarly research, often in collaboration with local music centres, societies and conservatoires.

Austral Harmony has performed by invitation at Elder Hall, the Baroque Hall North Adelaide, St David’s Burnside, Melbourne Recital Centre, Brunswick Beethoven Festival, New England Bach Festival, Melba Hall, St James’ Church Sydney, Glebe Music Festival, for Recitals Australia, Australasian Double Reed Society National Conferences, the Byron Music Society, Early Music Society Queensland, Chamber Music Adelaide, and Australian Bach Society. Austral Harmony hosts an annual REMEMBER BACHfest, and has recorded on the prestigious Chandos Records label to favourable acclaim.
