Ensemble Galante is a network of performers on period instruments dedicated to bringing audiences dynamic and informed performances of music from the past. The group focuses on music from the High Baroque, Galante, and Early Classical styles of the 18th Century. Performers have included some of Adelaide and Australia's best period performance specialists.
It starts its 2017 year with three performances in Adelaide Fringe of astounding music from Bach’s Musical Offering and other German baroque masterpieces. Later in 2017 it presents a collaboration with Continuo Collective from Melbourne, performing 18th century lute and guitar music. Ensemble Galante’s third and final concert for the year comprises rarely heard 18th century Scottish Baroque music.
